You're Better Than Ice Cream...

I made this particular card today for the MFT Guest Designer Challenge (MFGD12). The challenge asked participants to use watercoloring. This was actually quite the challenge for me since I am a not a super star when it comes to watercolors. But, I decided to play anyway using SU re-inkers. I believe I used Pumpkin Pie, Purely Pomegranate, Old Olive, Soft Sky, Always Artichoke, Taken with Teal and Violet.

To add some sparkle I utilized some Adirondack Acrylic paint for the carpet and the ice cream. If you have never played with them, you really must try them. I think they cost like 3$ per color and you get a whole lot of it.

I really had a lot of fun with this challenge!

Happy Stamping!

Here's the Scoop...

Oyyyy....where oh where has this summer gone???? I cannot believe that I am going back up to school in a week and a half. It's sooooo crazy.

But alas, what can I do? STAMPPPPPP

I LOVEEEE this set by My Favorite Things. Although I will concede that it took about 20-30 minutes to color, I think it looks pretty cute. I also love the 'Here's the Scoop' sentiment which is such a good basic sentiment as it doesn't HAVE to be used as a pun. For the main image I colored it with the following copics : R11, G21, G24, Y21, BG10, B01, BG09, BV04, BV000 and YR23. I mounted it twice with Bazzil paper then used a So Saffron card base with matching ink for the scoops of ice cream.

I think it came out really well.

I hope y'all are having a FANTASTIC day, I know I'm enjoying watching all the SU sneak peaks!!

Hello!

Thank you everyone for the wonderful wishes for my trip, it was fantastic! We went to three cities (Boston + NYC + Newport) plus a few day trips. Besides the AMAZING normal site seeing we also got a chance to go to three stamps stores (Paper Source + Chica Ink + The Ink Pad). I am going to start a new column with stamp store reviews because I always love to know whether a store is a dud or a gem. Later today I will post my full reviews.

Today's card is a fun mixture of stamps from the sale at my LSS. The main image is from Magenta and was such a joy to color. I used Y23, YG95, YG99, BG10, B01, R39 and E33. I loved playing with this 'through the window' coloring, which I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on Georgia Pacific paper. I stamped the blue CD with a background stamp from Hot Potato Stamps in Tempting Turquoise. HPS has a lot of really great thick images that are perfect for backgrounds.

The card base is Purely Pomegranate (I actually convinced myself to use it, I overcame a tinch of hoarding HOORAH!). I also used the PP ink for the sentiment 'Hello' from My Favorite Things, which I stamped on GP CS. The ribbon is from Wal-Mart. I am oddly cheap with ribbon. I know it is some people's stamping passion, but IMHO simple looks better.

Well, I'm off to catch up on some sleep. The airline lost one of our bags on the way back (and the way there) so let's just say the stress level is a little high over here. However, I should be back later today for those reviews and I am looking forward to playing with all the rubbah I bought along the way (my very first Thomas Kinkade stamp as well as some A Muse and others).

I Herd it was your Birthday!

Wow!! The semester is almost over! I seriously can't believe that in 2 1/2 weeks it will be SUMMER. But, I also can't believe how much I have to do before then. I have my Sierra Leone paper due tomorrow, I'm up to 11 pages, though. I have another paper due Saturday for Political Theory. Then, finals. Yuck.

However, I have some great news that I just can't wait to tell you! But, it will have to wait a couple days so keep checking back :)

Also, thank you so much for voting in the poll! There was a total of 53 votes! WOW. Most of you like any type of tutorial or coloring ones. Very little of you wanted Twinkling H20s only and a couple were only interested in Copics. I will definitely take all of this into account in the next couple of weeks. I will also be posting a couple of copic tutorials at the end of this week! Also, please add me to your Google reader :) I even have a button on the right column to quickly add it! It is a very easy way to keep connected!

So, now to the goods! How great is this card?!? It utilizes the MFT Set Punny Farm. I love to color these babies!! I also paired this set with the party hat from Stampendous Changito the Monkey. I love getting creative with mixing and matching my sets, it makes them so versatile. The inside says 'Herd it's your Birthday' which is also in the Punny Farm set. The background paper is Brilliant Blue from SU! and the green texture paper is old from my lss.

I colored with the following copics : G40, B05, C1, C3, G24 and 110 Special Black.

Well, I'm off to finish my paper!
Enjoy :)

Serenity NOW!

Today has been pretty hectic. I finally figured out which LSAT (sorta the SATs for Law School) prep class I am going to take (Test Masters, anyone?). I have also been studying and getting ready for Dance Marathon. Dance Marathon is an HUGE event up here which raises hundreds of THOUSANDS of dollars for Childrens Miracle Network. This year I will be participating by DANCING (basically standing and doing line dances) for 26.2 hours!!!! I am totally excited and it is such a great cause.

So, back to crafting. This is another card I did with my limited supplies. It uses Making Memories 5th Avenue paper and stickers. I used the MFT Serenity Now! stamp set (I love it!!). I colored it with COPICs (LMC): YG94, B10, G99 and E00. It is such a simple card, but I think it makes a lovely note card or good luck card!

Enjoy :)
