So Thankful

I just cannot believe that it is fall already. It's that time of the year when the air conditioner can safely go off and the windows go down. So, I decided to do a fall themed card! The background stamp is from Hero Arts and was stamped in ColorBox White Pigment Ink. The sentiment 'So Thankful' is from Autumn Leaves, stamped in Pretty in Pink by SU. Finally the Kraft CS is from PTI and the ribbon is from American Crafts.

See, its so easy I could explain it in one paragraph!

{1} Floral Wishes

Last, but certaintly not least is this fabulous set called 'Floral Wishes'. I love the clean lines of the images in this set and I also love the sentiments which include the one above. This set also includes a polka dot stamp which I used to stamp on my candle in White Craft Ink.

Sorry for another short post but things are still kind of hectic. The good news is I got to visit a bunch of stamp/scrapbook stores which I hope to review shortly!!!

{2} Fairytale Adventures

This HAS to be my favorite card of the release. I love this little princess AND that sentiment is TO DIE FOR! I think the fonts really express the quote in a moving way with the emphasis on 'Believe'.
Today has to be a quick post as I am actually in Orlando (visiting schools with my family for my sister). The ingredient list is below but I just wanted to add that I used a tinch of versamark for the shading of the clouds. I hope you are enjoying the releases!

Happy Father's Day

I love to mix and match stamp companies. I find that I achieve some of my favorite cards when I bring a diverse group of stamps, colors and supplies to my stamping table and just get at it! This card exemplifies this theory. I think I used 5 or 6 companies. The apron and recipe are from Ann-ticipations, the chef on the apron is from Stampin Up (Viola + Viola to Go), the word 'dad' is from the A-Z set from Little Paper Shop, the scratched look on the piece orange paper is a stamp from Stamper's Anonymous, the Clouds on the background are sponged with a template from Printworks (although it would be easy to make one DIY), the ribbon is from American Crafts and the paper is Bazzil. And I just love how it all came out!!

I think I might just mass produce these for all my father's day cards as it is just such a fun look. Are you mass producing your FDCs?

It's the big LSAT countdown, less the one week to go! Thank you to everyone for all the well wishes, it means a lot to me. New COPIC VIDEO tutorial, managing to use Glorious Green, and other fabulous day-before-birthday adventures!

By popular demand I made another quick copic video tutorial. The tutorial mainly focuses on how to pick color off of a Ranger non-stick mat. It is really very easy and effective!

The most exciting part of this card is the fact that I used........

GLORIOUS GREEN!!

I swear I always feel accomplished when I use it. I find it so FUGLLYY, but on this card I think it works.

Ok well I'm off to play Wii... it's seriously addicting.

Russia, Here I Come!!

This is the cover to my 'Russia Journal'. It is a Journal from SEI with 8 1/2 x 11 pages. I left all of the inside pages blank. I plan on bringing some colored pens and a glue stick. A sorta journal/scrapbook on the go.

First I covered the album in Tempting Turquoise cardstock. I then stamped it with the Hero Arts Clear Design Travel Journal. Then, I added a piece of K&Co patterned paper. Next I tied a piece of American Crafts Ribbon.

Then, I made 4 seperate design elements.

The first element is in the top right. I stamped three sentiments from Hero Arts (the same three that I used for the background) in Taken with Teal. I added 3 rhinestones from EK Success. I sponged the outline with Cameo Coral Ink.

The next element I worked on was my main title 'Russia'. I stamped 'Russia' in Rose Red with the Headline Alphabet from Stampin' Up. I also stamped 'Let's Go with Versafine Black. I stamped a background image from Ms in Tea Dye from Ranger.

The third element is the green notebook paper. The notebook paper stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms. I stamped it in Old Olive. Next I stamped the 'remember this' element by Hero Arts in Versafine Black. I doodled the date and subtitle with BG39 and RV29 Copics. Love my copicss!! I then placed another 3 rhinestones on the right hand corner.

The last element is the tag from the Hero Arts Set. I sponged it in Cameo Coral, Old Olive and Tempting Turquoise. I then stamped 'enjoy the journey' in Cameo Coral and 'World Traveler' in Old Olive.

WOW, that was a long explanation!!!

I hope to update at some point on the trip, but if not, we'll talk a week from Monday when I will start Little Paper Shop May teasers!!!

You're Barrels of Fun

Seder (the prayers before and after dinner for Passover *Seder means Order in Hebrew*) went really well. There was one major snafu, however, the air-conditioner broke. Luckily, it wasn't too hot out, only about 75-80 degrees with a breeze. So we opened all the windows and my mom tried to stay out of the kitchen (a little difficult for her lol). My dad was running around trying to fix it and assess what was wrong and he is usually the one who leads the Seder.

SO, because my mom was cooking and my dad was trying to fix the air, I got to lead. My mom had already asked me to help my dad because there was so many people there, but I was not prepared to lead the whole thing. I think I did a pretty good job and everyone seemed to be appreciative, so all and all I think it was a success.

This morning we got someone to come out and fix the air so it is back on, it was just bad timing. My Aunt, Uncle and Cousin left this morning which gave me time to stamp. How adorable is this little piggie from The Paper Shop? I love it! Of course I colored it with Copics ( E31, YR31, YR68, C1, E33, E37, RV11 and G21). I had a little trouble getting the right color for the pig but I ended up using a combo of E31, E33, YR31, YR68, RV11 and let me just tell you, he is fully saturated with all the layers of color that I used.

I punched him out with the Scallop Punch by SU! and used my old light green EK Success 2" Punch behind the Scallop Circle to accent the focal point. The paper and ribbon are leftovers from the place cards and are from American Crafts.

This particular card was actually for a sketch challenge 147. I rarely do sketch challenges but this seemed really fun and great for this image. What'd ya think?

Passover Place Cards

As some of you know I'm home for Passover. It is always nice to go home, especially for holidays. I linked the word Passover if you're curious about the holiday, but basically it is holiday spent around the dinner table reciting prayers and talking about Jewish History. It also means a day of cooking and cleaning. It's always chaotic around here for Holidays and this one is no different.

We are having 17 people for dinner and my mom gave everyone tasks. Mine was to make the place cards. I had a lot of fun picking a spring palette from American Crafts (of course, right?). I stamped the Hebrew words in Real Red from SU!. The stamp is from Tin Can Mail from the LSS (that's why I don't have a link). The American Crafts paper and ribbon is from their 'Spring and Summer' collection. I printed everyones name with 'CK Letter Home'.

It was a lot of fun making them, but I got a tinch OCD with the ribbon. Ugh, I am a real perfectionist when it comes to a knot. If you have ever wanted to learn how to tie a 'stampers knot' you should check out Kwerner's video tutorial.

Classes will be over Tuesday, but finals don't end until next Tuesday. It feels so good to be almost done and I can't wait for my summer to begin! This summer means a trip to Russia, the LSAT, a New England trip, a Help-Elyssa-Find-The-Perfect- Law-School-Trip, working at the LSS, interning with a judge and hopefully relaxing and stamping!!!! What'd ya think!?! Am I lucky or what....I just have to survive finals!

Also, I have been stamping up a storm here, so get excited for lots of great LPS, SU! and more cards :)
